Yes! Manje is completely free to download and use. All core features — transaction tracking, budgets, goals, bills, and AI insights — are included at no cost. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core app will always be free.
Manje reads your bank SMS messages and notification alerts to automatically detect transactions. You paste messages into the app, and our AI extracts the amount, merchant, date, and type. You can also add transactions manually.
Absolutely. Your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted SQLite. We don't upload your financial data to any server unless you explicitly enable cloud sync. When sync is enabled, it uses Firebase with end-to-end encryption.
Manje supports 50+ currencies including Malawian Kwacha (MWK), South African Rand (ZAR), Kenyan Shilling (KES), South Korean Won (KRW), US Dollar, Euro, and many more. You select your country during onboarding and can change it anytime.
Manje works with any bank that sends SMS transaction alerts. It supports 10+ message formats from major banks across Africa, Asia, and globally. If your bank's format isn't recognized, you can add transactions manually or contact us to add support.
Yes! Manje is available as an APK for Android devices and through TestFlight for iOS. We're working on App Store and Play Store listings for an upcoming public launch.
Manje uses a combination of keyword matching and AI (powered by Meta Llama) to categorize transactions. It learns from your corrections — if you recategorize a merchant, Manje remembers that for future transactions from the same merchant.
